Wassim mahfoudh an architect from Zaghouan governorate was interested in joining the phase 1 YLN project to enhance his skills since he is a little bit shy speaking in front of a crowd and was aware of the importance of the skills that will be provided through the projects activities and how it will help him seize new opportunities .Wassim background in civil society as a member of JCI Zaghouan Medina made him more aware of the importance of these types of projects and the opportunities that it can create for the youth both in his personal and professional life, that’s why he also engaged his fellow friends to enroll in the YLN project for the governorate of zaghouan.
Within the Phase 1 of the Youth leaders project in zaghouan, Wassim had went through several training of trainers workshops, he started his journey with a pedagogical training of trainers where through extensive training he acquired the skills of implementing facilitating and moderating a training session, learning the techniques of speaking in front of a crowd, training preparation, training evaluation methods, multiple learning techniques, creativity techniques, audience analyzing and conflict resolution. His newly acquired skills has been improved with the next specific training of trainers in project management where he dived into the 5 phases of project management from the project initiation and passing by the planning phase, the execution phase, the monitoring and control phase closing by the project closure.
The project management was accommodated also by specific training of training in entrepreneurship where Wassim has been introduced to numerous notions of a successful entrepreneur like successful teambuilding skills, the importance of innovation, successful need analyzation, effective audience targeting, establishing a successful business Model canvas setting clear key activities, value proposition, customer relationships, key partners, customer segmentation, revenue streams, key sources and cost structures.
Finishing the training of trainers Wassim has started his Cascade trainings where he was tasked after getting trained to transfer his knowledge and skills to the youth of his community where he excelled in this manner and got notified and invited from the Tunivision Club in ISET Zaghouan and got invited as a guest training to animate a training session.
Wassim has went along with his journey within the YLN project where he passed a 24 hours Hackathon working on a very important challenges extract within Zaghouan cultural situation where alongside his teammates have worked on the lack of incorporating youth and civil society in establishing cultural strategies in Zaghouan governorate. Through the Hackthon Wassim has managed to win the competition with the Cultural incubator where challenged multiple challenges and managed to establish a consortium gathering the shattered civil society components in Zaghouan to support further collaborations and engagement toward the cultural scene in the governorate.
During the Hackathon and especially implementing his Cascade trainings Wassim has noticed the need of skill enhancement toward the youth of his community and als the components of civil society in Zaghouan and how that lack of skills is effecting the general scene in Zaghouan related to youth life and soft skills and the weakness in zaghouan associations, from this problematic Wassim has got the idea of opening his own training center called ‘’Mahfoudh Consulting and training’’ the consulting agency is composed of two parts the training part and this due to Wassim discovered his passion of training within the project as he said, and also the consultancy part where also he discovered a rich network and target in need of professional consultancy services in Zaghouan or the other governorates.
Wassim now in the process of creating his consultancy and training agency where he is waiting for the final approval to start his journey in skills transferring benefitting the youth and civil society of his governorate proving that the YLN project an incubator and accelerator of youth who aspire to become leaders in the future and engage in their community’s challenges
